 Arte de América Hispana HYP Network, the leading independent publisher of Spanish language yellow page directories in the United States makes the call to all artists in the Chicago area to submit a piece of art and compete for a top prize of 3,000 dollars in its Arte de América Hispana contest.This competition covering the Chicago area, allows local artists and art students, 18 or older, to submit works of art that reflect their interpretation or rendition of Hispanic Heritage in the area. As in all other markets where it publishes directories, HYP Network promotes this event to celebrate and support the unique Hispanic heritage of different communities. A blue ribbon panel consisting of area dignitaries, Hispanic sports celebrities, and local television news personalities, will judge the winning entry on February 22, 2007. The award and unveiling celebration will be held on April 26th, 2007. The winning artist will receive a $3,000 prize while second place and third place will receive $1,500 and $500 respectively. The winning work of art will be reproduced on the front cover of GUIA Directorio en Español’s 2007 edition, and will be adapted for other promotional items such as posters, billboards, and t-shirts.
