The directory's cover features a reproduction of the winning entry of the second “Arte de América Hispana Contest” which ran from September 1st, 2006 through January 12th; 2007.This art competition promotes and celebrates the rich and diverse Hispanic Heritage throughout the Phoenix Area. Local artists and art students 18 years and older, compete for a $3,000 grand prize by submitting original work that is the artist's interpretation of Hispanic Heritage in the city. A blue ribbon panel of judges consisting of area dignitaries, local art galleries directors, directory’s clients and TV delegates selected the winning poster. “The judging process was a difficult task for all the judges who had to evaluate the beautiful entries this year.”, said Marianne Avila, Phoenix General Sales Manager. The special event hosted by HYP Network, will have the support of Arte de America Hispana title sponsors: Law Offices of Michael Cordova, The Art Institute of Phoenix, La Campesina, Azteca America, State Farm, City of Phoenix, Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, La Voz, and TV Y Mas. During the event, the top 3 artists will be recognized and receive cash prizes as the new edition of Directorio en Español Phoenix with the winning artwork on its cover will be unveiled.
