 HISPANIC YELLOW PAGES NETWORK LAUNCHED 22ND EDITION OF VEGA DIRECTORIO EN ESPAÑOL – WASHINGTON DC METROPOLITAN AREA Fairfax, VA (May 2, 2007) - On Thursday April 26th, 2007 HYP Network’s VEGA Directorio en Español, launched the 22nd edition for the Virginia area at the Channel Inn Hotel in Washington DC. The directory's cover features a reproduction of the winning entry of the third "Arte de América Hispana Contest” which ran from September 15th , 2006 through January 31st ; 2007.This art competition promotes and celebrates the rich and diverse Hispanic Heritage throughout the Washington DC Metropolitan area. Local artists and art students 18 years and older, compete for a $3,000 grand prize by submitting original work that is the artist's interpretation of Hispanic Heritage in the city. A blue ribbon panel of judges consisting of area dignitaries, local art galleries directors, directory’s clients and TV delegates selected the winning poster. Brenton Mulliner, General Sales Manager of VEGA Directorio en Español and Patrice Listfield, CEO of HYP Network presented the $3,000 award and commemorative plaque to Maria Cecilia Alberti Argentinean artist and winner of the competition. The winning artwork was reproduced on the front cover of VEGA Directorio en Español’s 22nd edition being distributed now. The image will also be used on programs and posters to be distributed at community events. The special event hosted by HYP Network, had the support of Arte de America Hispana title sponsors: El Tiempo Latino, Telefutura, El Zol 99.1, State Farm Insurance, Mayor’s Office on Latino Affairs – District of Columbia, DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, and The Art Institute of Washington.
