 Arte de América Hispana July 19, 2005 - HYP Network, the leading independent publisher of Spanish language yellow page directories in the United States announced today the official launch of the Arte de América Hispana contest in the city of Phoenix. This competition covering in the Greater Phoenix Metropolitan Area, allows local artists and art students, 18 or older, to submit works of art that reflect their interpretation or rendition of Hispanic Heritage in this city. As in all other markets were it publishes directories, HYP Network promotes this event to celebrate and support the unique Hispanic heritage of different communities. A blue ribbon panel consisting of area dignitaries, Hispanic sports celebrities, and local television news personalities, will judge the winning entry on November 17th, 2005. The award and unveiling celebration will be held on January 12th, 2006 at city hall. The winning artist will receive a $3,000 prize while the second place and third place will receive $1,000 and $500 respectively. The winning work of art will be reproduced on the front cover of Directorio en Español's 2006 edition, and will be adapted for other promotional items such as posters, billboards, and t-shirts. The contest runs from June 15th through November 11th, 2005. All artists interested in participating can download an application and contest guidelines at the company's web site. Artwork will not be accepted unless accompanied by a signed and completed application form.
